Our impact, so far

Every bag is a counted win.

Every night, bakeries, cafés and kitchens make more than they sell. Rescue a Surprise Bag on your way home and keep it out of the bin: the day's own bakes and dishes, ₹129–249 a bag, from a place you can name.

Bring a Bakery

The next one is your call.

Vote for the bakery you wish was here, or add one from Maps. When it goes live, every voter gets in ten minutes before the first drop opens.

The board opens the moment the first votes are in. Until then, tell us the bakery you'd vote for and we'll count it as the first vote when the list goes live.

Listed bakeries aren't partners yet; we're asking. Own one of them and want it off the list? Tell us and it's gone the same day. Voting asks for your phone number once, so one person is one vote.

Why it matters

Fresh every morning means surplus every night.

15–20%
of what a good bakery bakes goes unsold by closing

Our partners told us so, and until now it had nowhere to go but the bin.

0.8kg
of CO₂e in every bag that gets eaten instead of binned

Half a kilo of bread, and the flour, butter, energy and transport that went into it. Farm to retail, Poore & Nemecek, 2018.

4in 10
rescuers come back for another bag

A habit, not a deal. The partner is paid for what it would have written off, you eat well, and the day's best gets eaten.

Good to ask

Questions, answered.

Is this leftover food?

Never. It's the day's unsold counter, made that day and simply more than the place sold. Bags are packed and collected the same day.

How do you count the CO₂e?

About 0.8 kg per bag: half a kilo of bread at 1.57 kg of CO₂e per kilo, farm to retail (Poore & Nemecek, 2018). It's an estimate, not a measurement, and we only count bags that were paid for and collected.

Can I choose what's inside?

No, and that's the fun. Every bag is a surprise mix of what's left. You always know which partner it's from, and that it was made today.

Why does a bag cost less than the counter?

Because it would otherwise be written off tonight. The price is what it takes to keep the bag out of the bin and pay the partner for it; nobody is discounting their craft, and most of what you pay goes to the bakery.

Where are you live?

Across a dozen neighbourhoods of Hyderabad, from Madhapur and Gachibowli to Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills, and nightly in Bengaluru since 1 August.

When and where do I collect?

At the partner's own counter, in the last hour or two before it closes; most close between 9 and 11 pm. Show your code, and the handoff takes under 30 seconds.

Your impact

Watch your own number grow.

Every bag you rescue adds to a tally that's yours: bags saved, food kept out of the bin, CO₂e avoided, and the partners you've backed. Share it, or just enjoy knowing.

The personal tally is coming to the app; the numbers shown are an example.

For bakeries & cafés

Your surplus should feed people, not bins.

Turn tonight's unsold counter into revenue and an impact record you can put your name to. 45 seconds a day, nothing changes in the kitchen, paid weekly.
